(formerly “Rick and Judy”)
For the past few decades, Relative Harmony has been an acoustic trio comprised of Rick Avery (father) (vocals, keyboards, guitar and banjo); Judy Greenhill (mother) (vocals, guitar) and (son) Jonathan Avery (vocals, violin and percussion). Daughter Katie Avery (vocals, violin, cello, guitar) joins when she is in southern Ontario. Currently, she resides in Whitehorse in the Yukon, where she performs with local bands and teaches violin.
Jonathan has moved to Anchorage, Alaska, so our appearances as either a trio or quartet are very few.
Rick Avery and Judy Greenhill are available for concerts as a duo.
Relative Harmony and Judy Greenhill now comprise fiddler Marilena Mohan accompanied by Rick, with Judy, who is currently accepted as one of the finest dance callers in Ontario. They are based in Guelph, Ontario.
As a trio they offer dance experiences from beginner to advanced; Contra, English and Barn dances for groups from 20 to over 200. The music is an exciting mix of Celtic jigs, reels, polkas and marches from North America and the British Isles traditions. They have their own professional sound system and stage lighting if needed, and are a complete dance package experience.
They have performed all over Ontario, and at a plethora of school, community, camp and wedding dances.
